In 20th century Coimbatore had to face many adversities like the after effects of Indira Gandhi assassination, Hindu – Muslim riots, crimes, loots, bomb blasts, and so on. But after 2000, Coimbatore has successfully diminished the crime rate and registered its name in the list of the low crime cities of India.
